.25 and Feeling Alive.

Today is the day,

I am officially in my mid-twenties.

25 to be exact.
This fact honestly causes me to giggle and cringe at the same time.

I am getting old.

As a little girl, I dreamed up plans for age 24. The biggest one was to have my first baby because my mother was 24 when she gave birth to her first baby, my older brother--it just made sense in my little girl mind to do the same. Well, my 24th year has ended and there is obviously no baby to show. Little did I know back then, the Lord would bless my 24th year with a beautiful house I can call home, a family I can call for love and support, and a best friend I can call my husband.
My 25th year has been set up for great things.

Jeremiah 29:11
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm, plans to give you hope and a future."
I am 25 and feeling alive!

  4. I should note that at 25 I had a house and husband too and I still loved feeling like a "kid". Sorry if my first comment sounded weird :)

  5. Happy Birthday. I am not sure I even remember my 25th birthday. Getting older is not necessarily a bad thing. All of my favorite years happened after my 25th birthday. And I would not give up a single day to have remained 25 any longer. Life just is just starting to get good. What wonderful things you have to look forward to. I hope this birthday and all of those in your future are special.

  9. Happy Birthday old lady!!!

Isn't it funny how you have things planned as a kid and then life sneaks up on you. I promised my mother grandchildren by the time I'm 30. That's in March. I am so very not pregnant. I shouldn't promise things like this. :P

  10. Happy Birthday, Dear.
I remember making those "plans" for my own life as a kid as well...I am constantly looking back and saying, "I never would have imagined THIS for my life, but it is SO perfect!" God is good. He is faithful. He is so generous with his blessings. It sounds like you are seeing his bountiful blessings as you are supposed to! I am so happy for you this day...do something fantastic with your sweet husband. And the photos are fantastic too...tell him I expect him to grab that bad-boy camera of his when we're all there and make our family look fantastic too ;)

  20. Happy Birthday! I had a dream that somehow, driving back from some random camp, we (including Adam) got into the same backseat of the same car. I got to tell you this:
I showed your ".This is Me." blogpost to my best friends, and one of them leads a girls' church group on Saturdays, so she showed it to some of the girls there. Their minds were opened to a whole new way of dating: of waiting for the right one. Most interesting part is that we're in Brazil, so your wonderful story has reached South American. haha! :D
Happy Birthday, I can only hope (and pray) I am where you are when I turn 25.
