This is a quick "catch up" post for all to enjoy. Back in December, I shared my Felt Fun post and introduced you to three different tutorials for making felt flowers. You can see the post here. The last craft I completed using these felt flowers were wreaths for my parents house.
These wreaths were Christmas presents for my parents to decorate their doors during the in-between stage of after Christmas and before Spring. I am just now posting these yellow beauties and hopefully they will inspire you to make wreaths of your very own! I chose this mustard color because I thought it would pop brilliantly against their navy blue door and "fit" the in-between stage I mentioned above as well as the Fall.
The wreaths pictured above were smaller and used on the two side doors. I used less flowers and added a touch of light brown leaves for a different look. Keep in mind, these flowers were made out of felt so they should not be left outside during rainstorms. My parents hung these two wreaths on the inside of their doors and the colors matched perfectly with their interior. The front door wreath was protected by a screen door. The weather was not cooperating with me when I snapped the wreath pictures so please forgive the lighting.
I hope you enjoyed this little "catch up" post!

ReplyDeleteThanks for the idea and inspiration!
I have a small batch of hand-woven grapevines, products of prolific volunteer vines that take over parts of my yard every summer. These felt flowers are perfect for them. I can leave parts bare to show off the curly cues I like, and cover up the boring parts.
ReplyDeleteThanks for such a great idea!
Love this wreath! Just wondering how did you attach the felt flowers to the wreath? did you use glue or wire? Thanks! jani
ReplyDeleteGreat wreath. Love the color scheme.

Katie, Did you answer this already and I just don't see it?? Totally possible. :) How did you attach the flowers to the wreaths? I saw your hot glue gun tutorial on how to make the roses, but I wasn't sure about the wreath. . . thank you! So pretty!
ReplyDeleteKatie :)
hi katie, how did you attach the flowers? the guy at the craft recommended wiring it with floral wire. thanks for your response!
ReplyDelete@Katie and Laura: Simply use hot glue :)
ReplyDeleteI arranged my flowers first to see how I liked them and then one by one I attached them with hot glue. I added a little dab of hot glue onto the bottom of my felt flowers and held it in place. After a few seconds it sticks perfectly! Make sure you lay your wreath on a trash bag so the hot glue can drip through the wreath and onto the bag instead of the floor..lesson learned ;)
Happy Crafting ladies!
