.Little Things Bring Smiles Part 5.

The name of my blog is

Little Things Bring Smiles.

I chose this title because it is so important to remember the little things in life and to rejoice in them. My reason for blogging is to share my life, all parts of it including the good, the bad, and the ugly, along with some of the little crafts I make. Each month I want to focus on a few little things that brought smiles to my family. I would love for you to share your little things and see if they bring a smile to me, or another reader :)

Here are a few of our little things:

- Taking long walks with Colden
- Watching robins pick worms in our yard
- Seeing a bumblebee
- Cooking fish for Adam
- Sharing in conversation with good friends
- Enjoying a fire out back
- Having my parents visit for a weekend
- Buying new makeup
- Trying a Mocha for the first time (yum!)
- Using a new facial cleanser
- Getting a good night's sleep!
- Finding the perfect owl lamp
- Seeing the lake water ripple from the blowing wind
- Spending long periods in prayer
- Thinking about sandals
- Planning a trip with friends
- Meeting new people
- Watching Colden play with our neighbors German Shepard
{And one, kinda big thing}
- Looking for houses!

Now it's your turn. Always remember,
Little Things Bring Smiles!

  1. I love this list... and the simple reminder that it really is "the little things" especially in such a consumer obsessed world. Good luck to you and Adam with finding a home... it's my dream to purchase my own home instead of renting.

  5. Well, it will come as no surprise to you that the one very little but oh-so-big thing that brings me smiles (or in this case, person), is your beautiful niece EMMA!!!! :) Max and Scott make me grin from time to time, as well. ;)

  6. "New Makeup"

There is this whole "beauty guru" community on YouTube that I stumbled upon a little over a year ago when I wanted to learn how to apply eyeshadow. Ever since I've been watching these videos I've been buying so much makeup! So much so that Mike is like "uhh Melissa, you're obsessed you kinda need to cut back on that"

Funny Story: A couple of days ago I went to the mall to kill time before Mike got home from his tutoring job, so he called me to tell me he was leaving and I told him I was at the mall and he replied with "I hope you're not buying makeup" Funny he should ask that, because I was in Sephora and had 40 dollars worth of blush and bronzer in my hand... he convinced me to put it back, but I will probably not have enough will power to not buy it next time I'm there :-)

Here are some Beauty Gurus to check out on YouTube:(beware they will make you want to buy a crazy amount of makeup, but thanks to watching these videos I now know how to apply eyeshadow)

^ Those 2 have babies, so I think you might enjoy them. DulceCandy doesn't show her baby on camera though...only on her blog: dulcecandy.com

    There's also:

Can you tell makeup excites me? This and home shopping are like my hobbies and of course bring me many smiles!!!
